How to deal with Karil. I recently started Barrows and I'm currently on 23 chests. Every run I'm having the most trouble with Karil. I've tried two methods so far: melee and Magic. I have an ironman actually!I only use prayer on Dharok, Karil, and Ahrim and I kill them in that order at the start. The other three I tank. I take off my plate body and legs when I mage dharok and Karil for higher mage accuracy, then bring a range gear switch for Ahrim. The massive range (10 squares vs rcb 7 vs karil 8) is really nice to have and the thing is pretty damn accurate (100 vs rcb 90 and karils 84) with decent damage splats (78 range str vs karils 55 and rcb addy bolts 100/mith 82). It's right in the middle of the two for attack speed.Even with amethyst arrows, pretty sure Karil's is better than MSB (I), only by about 5%, but still better. Considering the time investment for amethyst arrows, I'd rather save those for amethyst darts and use Karil's. All the advice I see is Elite void with a dragon crossbow (I can't afford a better crossbow) but, when I run it all through a dps calculator, they say that using Karil's with a blowpipe and adamant darts is better dps than Elite Void with a dragon crossbow and ruby bolts (e). Karils is more useful in many circumstances. I'd say go with Karils. You rarely range a monster who uses melee up close where he can hurt you, if defense matters.
